Councilor
H.E. Chev. John Griffin Richardson Rountree,
GCTJ
Mr.
Rountree, the son of Otis J. and Harriet Griffin Rountree, was born in Ocala, Florida. He was educated at
The Bolles School and attended the
Ringling School of Art and Design.
He was awarded the honor of Accademico Corrispondento by L'Accademia Tiberina, Rome, Italy,
in 1970.
Following a
fourteen-year career in Washington, D. C. as an
association management executive and publisher, he retired
to his native state of Florida where he actively pursues
his interest in genealogy and American history.
Mr. Rountree is one of the early
members of the Order in the United States, having been
invested by the former Grand Prior, H.E. Chev. Gordon Malvern
Fair Stick, GCTJ in 1973 at Guilford House, the residence of the
Grand Prior in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the
founding Prior of the Priory of St. King Charles the
Martyr of Washington, D.C., and served as a former Member
of the Grand Council.
