Chancellor
Chevalier W. Michael Margolin, KCTJ
Mr. Margolin is
a native New Yorker. He received his bachelor's degree from
St. Lawrence University and his Master's degree from
New
York University. He did additional graduate work at
the
University of California at Berkeley and at the
College of
New Rochelle. Retired as a school administrator from the New
York City public schools, he currently works as an adjunct
professor
at the City College of New York teaching in the School of
Education Teaching Fellows Program. He continues to do
consulting work in the field of education. He is also the
author of several science text books. Two of his books are
featured in the National Science Teachers Association
catalog of recommended books.
The father of two
grown children, a son, Brian and a daughter, Pamela, he is
also the grandfather of two lovely granddaughters.
Mr. Margolin
serves on the vestry of St. Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue, where
he heads the Building Committee. After thirteen years of
service as Head Usher, he recently relinquished the position,
but continues as an usher and as a lector. He also serves on
the Board of the St. Thomas Choir School and on numerous
committees. He has been active in fund raising for the Choir
School.
He is a member of
the Pilgrims of the United States, the Church Club of New
York, the Venerable Order of St. John, the New England Society,
the St. George Society and the Princeton Club.
Mr. Margolin is a
member of Independent Royal Arch Lodge No. 2 F&AM, where he
is the Treasurer. He is also a member of the Long I Grotto
and other Masonic organizations.
He has been a
member of SMOTJ for seven years. He previously served as the
Standard Bearer of the Priory of St. Michael and St. George.
